If you’re struggling to pay for broadband or mobile phone services, some providers offer cheaper tariffs (called social tariffs)for people who are claiming Universal Credit or other benefits.
Some providers offer "social tariffs" which are only available to customers who receive certain government benefits.
Ofcom have a list of cheaper tariffs for broadband and other internet services for eligible households who might be struggling to afford their broadband or phone services.
If you aren’t eligible for benefits or social tariffs, then the best avenue is to switch providers, or negotiate with your provider when your contract expires. Ofcom has a list of approved comparison schemes.
TV licence
If you’re aged over 75 and claiming Pension Credit, you live in a care home, or you are blind, you may be able to get a free TV licence. TV Licensing has information about eligibility.
There are also payment plans that can help you pay for your TV license in smaller, more manageable chunks.
