The changing rooms at the historic Princes Theatre in Clacton are shining once again thanks to a dazzling restoration.

The Tendring District Council-run (TDC) theatre at Clacton Town Hall has unveiled newly restored changing rooms

The work has been funded entirely by the restoration fee charged on tickets – meaning the project has been paid for by theatregoers.

The fund has previously been used to pay for a new sound system and seating in the theatre.

The four original changing rooms have seen a complete restoration and feature modern amenities alongside a fresh look.

Gary Scott, TDC’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Culture and Heritage, said: "We are thrilled to reveal the newly refurbished changing rooms at the Princes Theatre.

“This project reflects our commitment to providing top-notch facilities for our performers and staff.

“Thanks to generous theatregoers, we have been able to create a space that is both functional and inviting.

“Well done to all that were involved in this brilliant project."

The restoration includes a whole host of improvements, including new carpets, chairs, makeup desks, mirrors with bright modern lighting.

The changing rooms have also received updated electrical work and a fresh coat of paint.

The updated changing rooms are designed to provide a comfortable and professional environment for all performers, ensuring they have the best possible experience while preparing for their shows.

This will also enhance the theatre for local residents who hire the venue for various uses including dance shows and weddings.
