Families invited to join free fun day in Dovercourt as Easter eggstravaganza returns

Families are being invited to join a free Easter eggstravaganza in Dovercourt High Street this weekend.

The town’s popular Family Fun Day is back following the success of last year’s event, which saw thousands of people descend upon the revamped Orwell Place car park event space, off High Street.

The space will again be transformed into a hub of activity for the celebration on Saturday, 19 April, from 10am to 4pm.

This year's event will feature an array of free activities, including fairground rides, face painting, and an Easter egg hunt around the town centre.

Live entertainment and street performers will bring the High Street to life with vibrant energy and fun for all ages.

Organised by the UK Government-funded High Street Accelerator Scheme, the event is a collaborative effort led by the High Street Partnership.

Work is led by a forum of local partners and supported by Tendring District Council (TDC).

Councillor Ivan Henderson, TDC’s Cabinet Member for Economic Growth, Regeneration and Tourism, urged residents and visitors to continue to support Dovercourt’s vibrant town centre.

“Last year’s event was spectacular and I’m delighted that it will be taking place again this Easter,” he said.

“It’s going to be a fantastic free day out for families, with so much to see and do.

“We hope this event will help people rediscover the charm of our High Street – it is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our town centre and highlight the potential improvements this programme can bring.

“We encourage everyone to come along and enjoy a full day of activities with their families.”
