A new district councillor has been elected following a by-election in The Bentleys and Frating ward.
Voters in the Tendring District Council (TDC) ward went to the polls to elect a new district councillor on Thursday, 6 February.
The seat was won by Reform UK candidate Aimee Louise Keteca with 432 votes.
Liberal Democrats candidate Rachael Richards came second with 328 votes while Conservative Party candidate Neil Robin Stock gained 136 votes and Labour Party candidate Oli Mupenda received 31 votes.
Turnout at the by-election was 30.8%.
Ian Davidson, Returning Officer, thanked everyone involved in the by-election, which took place following the resignation of long-serving councillor Lynda McWilliams.
"I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the candidates for their participation and to the voters who came out to cast their ballots in The Bentleys and Frating ward,” he added.
"I also wish to acknowledge the dedication and hard work of the TDC elections team and thank them for ensuring a smooth process."
