The deadline for nominations for this year’s Tendring Youth Awards has been extended.

The 9th Tendring Youth Awards are set to celebrate the remarkable achievements of brilliant young people who live, study, or work in the Tendring area.

With the nomination deadline now extended until 10am on Friday, May 6, you have extra time to recognise the young stars in your life before the glittering gala awards evening at Clacton's Princes Theatre in July.

This year’s sponsors include Harwich Haven Authority, which is back as the headline sponsor for the sixth year, Nantmor Blinds, the Princes Theatre, Aquinas Provisions, and Haltermann Carless, with additional support from Tendring District Council and Essex County Council.

The categories recognise achievements in academics, inspirational caring, community work, and environmental efforts, among others, while nominations are welcome for individuals or groups, such as youth organisations.

A panel of judges will review the nominations and compile a shortlist of finalists.

Karen O’Connor, Chairwoman of the Tendring Youth Awards, highlighted the importance of nominating deserving youngsters.

“We have already received some incredibly inspiring nominations, yet we believe there are many more exceptional young individuals in our community who merit recognition,” she said.

“Our local young people are truly outstanding, and it’s important that we showcase their achievements.

“The judges can only assess the nominations they receive, so we encourage everyone to nominate the extraordinary young people they know, work with, or volunteer alongside.

“There’s no limit to the number of nominations you can submit, so let’s ensure every deserving young person gets the opportunity to be celebrated.”
