The Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out the Council’s process and timetable for producing planning documents. This includes the programme for reviewing the Tendring District Local Plan, the process for preparing the Development Plan Document (DPD) for Tendring Colchester Borders Garden Community, and the production of other key planning documents. It sets out the anticipated timetable for consultation periods, examination (where applicable) and adoption of the various documents. Publication of the LDS ensures that stakeholders, including members of the public, Town and Parish Councils, landowners and developers, partner organisations and the Planning Inspectorate are kept aware of the indicative timetable the Council is working to, to help them organise their time and resources accordingly.
The LDS was updated in July 2024 to reflect a delay in carrying out the Issues and Options Consultation for the Local Plan review, as a result of the General Election.
