Independent Living housing

Independent Living housing enables you to live in a home of your own with 24 hour care and support on site. This type of housing is also known as Extra Care or Assisted Living. It is for people aged 55+ who have a care need.

You will have the freedom to live your life, your way, in safe and pleasant surroundings. Flats are easy to maintain and include technology to help support you.

Care and support is delivered in your home, at a time to suit you. This can include:

• Personal care
• Daily skills and managing your home
• Laundry, cleaning and shopping

Who is eligible?

To live in Independent Living housing in Tendring you will:

Be aged 55+
Need at least six hours of care each week
Live in the Tendring District Council area (or have a connection to the area)
