We appreciate that many proposals might just be at the “idea” stage and you would like to discuss this with one of our Officers before proceeding with a formal pre-application enquiry.
Our friendly planning team provides a Duty Planner Officer service where you can speak to one of our Officers directly about your project and how to proceed. These projects can range from finding out about permitted development allowances (what you can and can’t do without requiring planning permission) to new residential and commercial developments.
Our Duty Planner Service operates via telephone appointments where you will have the opportunity to speak to a Planning Officer to discuss your project. These appointments are available Monday – Thursday and allow for a free of charge discussion with one of our officers.
If you would like to arrange a telephone appointment with one of our Planning Officers please contact our reception team on 01255 686161. Please note that to book an appointment you will be required to provide the following information:
• Your name and contact details;
• Address of application site; and
• Full details of the proposed development (including measurements if possible).
Please be advised that these appointments are verbal only and constitute an Officers informal decision based on the information provided at the time. We are unable to provide formal advice writing unless a pre-application has been submitted.
Please help us improve our website by giving us feedback you'd like to on this page. If you'd like to remain anonymous you can omit your name and email. Thanks, Tendring District Council.
