Tendring youth awards - privacy notice

The purpose for this processing

Tendring Youth Awards (TYA) processes three broad categories of data: (i) of those nominated for awards, and those who nominate them; (ii) of its committee and membership, and; (iii) of contacts at sponsoring and other supporting organisations

Legal basis for this processing

  1. Consent. Where someone is nominated by a third party, they will be contacted as part of the awards process. They are able to withdraw their consent at any time.

Consent must be a freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous statement of the data subject’s agreement to the processing. Consent will not be assumed to be provided by silence or a non-response to a request.

What data do we collect about you

  1. For nominee – name, age, address, contact details, place of education.
  2. For nominator – name, address, contact details
  3. Name, address, contact details

Name, name of employer, contact details, bank details for supporting organisation

How long do we collect your personal data

  1. 18 months after awards ceremony nomination made for
  2. Six months after they cease to be a member
  3. 18 months after awards ceremony sponsorship/support was given for

Who we share your data with

The data will be shared by the organising committee for the purposes of running the awards. Individual committee members may also work for supporting organisations (e.g. Tendring District Council/Essex County Council) and use their work systems to support the awards. However, there is no systematic sharing of data with any other body.
