Voters in Tendring District Council’s (TDC) The Bentleys and Frating ward are heading to the polls on Thursday, 6 February.
The Statements of Persons Nominated has now been published, confirming who will be contesting the vote.
The candidates for the election of a district councillor for the ward (with their description) are:
The poll will take place on 6 February between 7am and 10pm. Polling cards for voters detail which polling station they can vote at.
Those wishing to vote and who are not already registered have until Tuesday, 21 January, to register.
Applications for, amendments to or cancellations of arrangements to vote by post or by proxy must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Clacton Town Hall by 5pm on Wednesday, 22 January, while the deadline for new applications to vote by proxy is 5pm on Wednesday, 29 January.
Returning Officer Ian Davidson urged people in The Bentleys and Frating ward to use their vote on 6 February.
“I would encourage everyone in the ward who has a vote to have their say as to who will represent them on the district council,” he said.
“People are advised to check now to ensure they are registered to vote and, if voting in person at a polling station, that they have a valid photo ID.”
A by-election had been earmarked to take place for the vacant Ramsey ward seat on Ramsey and Parkeston Parish Council.
But with only one candidate nominated, Melanie Moakson has been elected unopposed.
