Residents and bird enthusiasts across Tendring are being urged to join the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend.
Tendring District Council (TDC) will be hosting its own Big Garden Birdwatch events for school children in the scenic grounds of Weeley Crematorium and with Frinton in Bloom at the beautiful Crescent Gardens.
The events are part of the council’s community involvement commitment for its Green Flag awards, which four of the council’s open spaces hold.
The RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch, celebrating its 45th year, is the world’s largest wildlife survey.
Residents in Tendring are being urged to join in the survey, which takes place from Friday, 24 January, to Sunday, 26 January.
Adrian Smith, TDC Cabinet Member for Environment, said the initiative offers an opportunity to connect with local wildlife.
"Whether you're a dedicated birdwatcher, a casual nature lover, or someone who simply enjoys the outdoors, it's easy to miss the incredible wildlife right in our own neighbourhoods," said Councillor Smith.
"You don't need to travel far to witness some of the most breathtaking creatures.
“So, join the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend and uncover the natural beauty in your own garden."
