Get ready to celebrate the incredible achievements of young people in Tendring.
The ninth Tendring Youth Awards are now open for nominations, shining a spotlight on the amazing accomplishments of young individuals who live, study, or work in the area.
These awards also honour the adults who support them.
With nominations now open, there's plenty of time to put forward the young stars in your life before the dazzling gala awards evening at Clacton's Princes Theatre in July.
This year’s sponsors include Harwich Haven Authority, which is back as the headline sponsor for the sixth year, and Haltermann Carless, with additional support from Tendring District Council and Essex County Council.
The award categories are as diverse as the talents they celebrate, including Young Lifesaver, Community Improvement, Environmental Initiative, and the Unsung Hero award for adults who support young people.
Whether it's an individual or a group, such as a youth organisation, nominations are welcome.
The categories recognise achievements in academics, inspirational caring, community work, and environmental efforts, among others.
A panel of judges will review the nominations after the deadline on Thursday, April 17 and compile a shortlist of finalists.
Karen O’Connor, Chairwoman of the Tendring Youth Awards, shared her admiration for the remarkable achievements of young people in the area as the awards enter their second decade.
“Every year, we meet some truly extraordinary young individuals, and I am eagerly anticipating this year’s nominations,” she said.
“This event thrives on community support, so I urge everyone to think about the young people they know and nominate them for a Tendring Youth Award.
“I am looking forward to hearing the inspiring stories behind this year’s nominations.
“I would also like to extend my gratitude to our sponsors for their unwavering support. If your business or organisation is interested in sponsoring the awards, please do get in touch.
“Let's come together to celebrate and recognise the outstanding young people in our community!
