Tendring District Council (TDC) has brought the holiday spirit to Clacton town centre with the installation of a 25ft Christmas tree.
Thanks to the generous donation of £2,500 from AA Turner Tankers, the tree has taken pride of place in Clacton Town Square – ready for the town’s Christmas light switch-on this weekend.
The festive tree was put up on Friday and will remain a festive focal point until early January.
Alongside the tree, TDC has also adorned the town centre’s lampposts with sparkling Christmas lights, adding to the seasonal charm.
Dan Casey, TDC Chairman, expressed his gratitude to AA Turner Tankers for their generous contribution for a third year running.
"Clacton Town Square is the heart of the town’s festive celebrations, and we're incredibly grateful to AA Turner Tankers for their generous donation,” he said.
“This beautiful tree will undoubtedly bring joy and festive cheer to our community throughout the holiday season.
“A heartfelt thank you to AA Turner Tankers for making this possible."
AA Turner Tankers started working with TDC during the Hazelmere cliff stabilisation work in Holland-on-Sea in 2018 and has more recently been involved in maintenance and inspections of sewage treatment works and pumping stations in the district.
Clacton's Christmas tree lights will be officially switched on at around 5pm on Saturday, 7 December.
The switch-on will cap off a day filled with festive fun, organised by Clacton Pride, which will include 30 market stalls and entertainment from local acts and tribute artists, starting from 10am.
The lights will be illuminated with the help of the cast from this year's Princes Theatre pantomime, Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs, which runs from December 7 to 29.
