Hard work, enthusiasm and the fantastic contribution to public services made by apprentices across Tendring and North Essex was celebrated at a special event held at the Town Hall during National Apprenticeship Week 2023.

Celebrating its 40th birthday, each of the Career Track apprentices attending were awarded with certificates for their dedication towards achieving various qualifications.

Certificates of Achievement were handed out to apprentices by Debianne Messenger, Work Based Learning Manager. Certificates of merit were also awarded to those who have gone the extra mile in their apprenticeships by their assessors; certificates were given out by Cllr Carlo Guglielmi, Deputy Leader of Tendring District Council (TDC).

Some apprentices from Colchester Borough Council, and other small and large organisations in the District who are part of the wider Career Track scheme, were also recognised at the event.

Cllr Carlo Guglielmi, who is also the Chairman of the Career Track Governing Board said: “All of our apprentices work incredibly hard each and every day; it is great to have the opportunity to celebrate their achievements.

It is not only an achievement to see our apprentices grow but our Career Track scheme itself, which celebrates its 40thanniversary, a credit to the team behind the success”.

“And I am extremely grateful to all the employers who engage with the scheme and provide work placement for our learners” Cllr Guglielmi added.

TDC Chief Executive Ian Davidson added his thanks to the Career Track team for the work that they do.

“This is absolutely key in terms of the way we can grow our future with new staff, and in terms of capacity of what we can do as a council, one third of TDC staff were previously on our apprenticeship programme. Creating opportunities and training for careers for the young and not so young people in Tendring.”

“It was an honour to have Gordon Adams, founder of Career Track 40 years ago in attendance.” Ian added.
