We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated person to join our friendly Planning Business team where high quality customer service, attention to detail and a willingness to learn are at the heart of what we do.
There will be a wide range of tasks and functions to learn including, but not limited to:
• Answering customer enquiries via telephone, email and face to face
• Researching and collating planning documents and data using bespoke software
• Recording and monitoring FOI& EIR requests for the department
• Providing customers with advice on planning related matters
• Booking Duty Planner appointments
• Assisting with the day-to-day business functions of the Service.
The role will involve working with maps and plans, several Microsoft applications as well asthe specialist software we use to manage planning applications and other functions within the service.
The Business team collaborates with colleagues from across the Service and the wider Council to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to our service users. The role itself is varied and interesting, and the team is friendly and professional. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of people who rely on the functions delivered by the Planning Business team.
This apprenticeship role offers a unique opportunity to utilise your excellent telephone manner, IT and customer service skills in our busy team which is often the first port of call for Planning service users. You will have the desire and ability to learn about Planning functions & legislation, business and corporate processes, and the bespoke software used across our Service.
