The Role
In this role, you will:
• Build and enhance the people and culture capability of the Council.
• Support the management of the employee lifecycle.
• Contribute to broader organisational and strategic management.
• Lead the development of our organisational culture and values.
• Provide strategic management of the Council’s Career Track provision, utilising apprenticeships to support our workforce and delivering a professional program within external organisations.
• Collaborate with Senior Management on Organisational and Workforce Development matters, ensuring best practices are followed.
• Work closely with the People & Culture Manager to provide seamless support and maintain our Council culture.

The Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:
• A Level 7 qualification in Human Resource Management or Development.
• Chartered status of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (ideally FCIPD).
• At least a Level 4/5 (ideally Level 7) Leadership or Management qualification.
• Full membership of a professional body in management, leadership or local government.
• A Level 5 Coaching and Mentoring qualification (desirable)
• British Psychological Society Level A and B Occupational Test User qualification. Registered Member of the British Psychological Society (desirable)
• Experience of working in a complex and diverse organisation at a senior level undertaking similar functions and duties to those in the job description.
• Having a consistent record of giving sound professional advice and building success through effective and productive working relationships.
• Effective budget management skills.
• Demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills.
• Proficient in MS-Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Eligible to work in the UK
