In this role, you will lead the coordination and implementation of our Sport and Activity Strategy, creating opportunities for individuals and communities to maximize their potential through physical activity and sport.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the delivery of the Sport and Activity Strategy action plan (please review the strategy attached to advert).
• Collaborate with schools, GP practices, National Governing Bodies, and other stakeholders to promote health and wellbeing.
• Develop and implement innovative programs to boost participation in physical activity and sport, focusing on hard-to-reach groups such as Children & Young People, Women and Girls, Disabled People, and Older People.
• Provide advice and guidance on governance arrangements and ensure alignment with the Council’s Corporate Priorities.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on the progress of initiatives to ensure milestones are met.
• Manage resources, including financial and community social value calculators, to deliver high-quality sports and physical activity programs.
• Raise public awareness of health and fitness issues and promote participation through marketing tools.
• Lead temporary work groups and community projects as required.
