The Emergency Planning Team are responsible for ensuring the authority is prepared for responding to any type of major incident or emergency that may occur in the District.
We use the Integrated Emergency Management Model to direct our work:

Plan writing, review and maintenance
Training (Internal & External)
Exercising (Internal & External)
Warning and Informing
Information Sharing with other emergency responders and utilities
Co-operating with our responding partners
Supporting the effected community, normally be opening emergency accommodation
Supporting the emergency services
Working with the affected community to return toa new normal
Clean-up and waste management
Debriefing
Reviewing plans and arrangements in light of lessons learned from an incident / emergency, and making changes where required
