New Pre-Application Service

Thank you for visiting Tendring District Council’s planning pre-application advice page, which was launched in July 2024 following a thorough review of the service. Our pre-application advice service is available to you if you are considering any form of development and would like advice before you make a planning application.

We encourage you to discuss your proposals with us before you submit a planning application. This ensures you understand:

• what planning policies and other requirements affect your proposal;

• what information you need to submit; and

• if there are any changes you can make to your proposal to increase the chances of us granting planning permission.

There are a series of pages located throughout that will provide you with more information relating to what our pre-application service is, what you would gain from using the service, and a range of additional information including the accompanying fees, information you would need to provide to us, and expected timeframes.
