This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a busy team, working alongside other colleagues to ensure volunteering opportunities are developed so that volunteers can be part of the team making positive changes in communities. The postholder will benefit from peer support, working as part of the wider The Active Wellbeing Society volunteering team, and wider cycling team.

  1. Recruit, train and supervise new volunteers
  2. Manage the Better Impact system (volunteer portal)
  3. Work with volunteers to upload their data
  4. Regularly update volunteer roles and shift patterns
  5. Work alongside other TAWS employees to manage their volunteer’s shifts
  6. Train staff to use the volunteer portal
  7. Be the first point of call for volunteer enquiries
  8. Deliver the volunteer induction
  9. Carry out volunteer check ins
  10. Work with the marketing team to ensure that adverts for volunteering opportunities are engaging & timely
  11. Keep up to date with the KPI’s for:
  12. Volunteer hours
  13. Volunteer opportunities
  14. Volunteer satisfaction
  15. Support volunteer recruitment for events such as bike give away days
  16. Identify and support volunteers with bespoke progression routes into training, pathways of employment and cycle groups
  17. Support with the logistics of bike transportation as part of the operational delivery as required
  18. Create and maintain a safe, organised working environment, for all volunteers
  19. Oversee that people are suitably qualified to deliver to required standards (food & hygiene courses, maintenance workshops, bike training, DBS)
  20. Maintain a caring, supportive, listening environment
