Local Recycling Points
In addition to your household collection service and the district’s Recycling Centres for Household Waste, there are over 80 local recycling points throughout Tendring.
You can deposit a range of materials at these sites, including:
- Glass bottles and jars
- Mixed paper
- Textiles, clothes and shoes
- Food and drink cans
- Aluminium foil and aerosol cans
- Small electrical items
- Tetra Pak (food and drink cartons)

Recycling Centres for Household Waste (RCHWs)
Tendring has four Recycling Centres for Household Waste (also known as civic amenity sites, dumps or tips!). These are operated by Essex County Council and are located at the following addresses:
- Malting Lane, Kirby-le-Soken, CO13 OEH
- Rush Green Road, Clacton, CO16 7BL
- West End Lane, Dovercourt, CO12 3SF
- Greensmill, Lawford, CO11 1UW
