Tendring operates a weekly household waste and recycling collection service. We ask everyone to try and separate as much waste as possible for a separate collection and onward recycling.
To help you do that, each household has two recycling boxes, a small food waste caddy and a larger food waste caddy to help you recycle your household waste. You can use black sacks for anything that can’t be recycled.
Your red recycling box and green recycling box are collected on alternate weeks, whilst your food waste caddy and black sacks are collected weekly. You can find out when your containers are collected by looking at your collection calendar.
We also offer a household Garden Waste Collection service. You can find out about the new service and register your interest on the Garden Waste and Composting page.
A limited number of lids are available for your recycling boxes. These can be collected from the Recycling Box Lid Collection Points located throughout the district.
In addition to your boxes and food caddy, there are plenty of other ways to recycle in Tendring. There are lots of local recycling points across the district, which accept a wide variety of materials and composting at home is another great way to ‘Feel Good About Recycling’.
