Tendring is hosting an individual time trial - stage 5 - of the OVO Tour of Britain on Thursday 7 September.
It will be the first time that the very best of the world’s men’s road race cyclists will hit the streets of Clacton over a ten-mile open, coastal course.
The general timing will be from around 9.30pm to 2pm.
Stage Five is set to be the longest time trial to be staged since 2013 when it was won by Sir Bradley Wiggins at Knowsley Safari Park.
The OVO Energy Tour of Britain is British Cycling’s premier road cycling event, giving cycling fans the opportunity to see the world’s best teams and riders competing on their door step, taking place between Sunday 3 and Sunday 10 September 2017.
