Five students from Harwich and Dovercourt High School have been kept busy on their work experience with Tendring District Council (TDC).
The Year 10 teenagers have spent two weeks with a variety of services including sports facilities, the Princes Theatre, seafronts, tourism and events, and engineering services.
It has given them the opportunity to discover what the real workplace is like and the role of the Council on a day to day basis.
Lynda McWilliams, TDC’s Cabinet Member for Leisure and Partnerships, said the Council was pleased to be able to host the students.
“It has been a chance for the teenagers to sample working life at first hand and they have been able to taste what it is like in a wide range of areas that the Council is involved with,” she said.
“The feedback I have been given from the managers they have worked with is that they have been a credit to their school, their parents and most of all themselves.
“I hope that they have found it an equally positive experience.”
