Plans to create a new six room guesthouse in Clacton have been given the go ahead.
The scheme has been put forward for a residential property in Church Road and approved by Tendring District Council (TDC).
It also includes a single rear and side extension to provide the owner’s living accommodation and one room for a disabled person on the ground floor.
The proposal was welcomed by TDC as a boost to the tourist industry due to the recent trend of guesthouses being lost to other uses and the changes to the building are not seen as being detrimental to the area.
The Council received one letter of objection to the planning application.
