Paying Your NNDR Bill

There are several options for paying your NNDR bill and you can choose which way is most convenient for you.

Please ensure that each instalment reaches us by the due date.

Instalments

It is up to you whether your bill is broken down into 10 or 12 instalments. If you choose 10 instalments, you will pay more each month but will usually have a break from payments each February and March. If you choose 12 instalments, you will pay less each month but pay all year round. Whichever you choose, the total amount you pay each year will be exactly the same.

If you wish to pay half yearly please pay your first 5 instalments on the 1 April and the remaining balance on 1 September.

Ways to pay

Direct Debit

If you wish to pay your Business Rates by Direct Debit and are not currently paying by this method, a form is provided on the back of your Business Rates Bill OR download a form. The form should be printed, completed and returned to the address shown on the form.

Direct Debit is the easiest and cheapest method of making payment, both for you and us. In addition, by reducing administration costs, paying by Direct Debit helps to keep the level of everyone's bill down.

When you agree to pay by Direct Debit you are automatically covered by the following guarantee:

Direct Debit Guarantee

This Guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits

If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit Tendring District Council will notify you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request Tendring District Council to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request

If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit by Tendring District Council or your bank or building society you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society

If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when Tendring District Council asks you to.

You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify us.
